Frequently Asked Questions

When is the annual home owners meeting?

The annual meeting for the Southwood Shores Owners Association is the 2nd Saturday in October.  Someone from the SSOA Board of Directors will send out a notice to all members around September 1st letting everyone know the time and place where the meeting will be held. 

Who is currently on the Board of Directors?

What if I want the notices and invoices sent to an alternate address?

If you would like the annual meeting notices and invoices for HOA dues sent to an address other than your address within the community, please send an email to ssoa77331@gmail.com and let SSOA know what lot(s) you own and the address where you would like the community communications sent.

Where do I send SSOA Annual Dues?

You can send your SSOA Dues to the following address:

You can also drop off payments in the locked mailbox, found at the corner just past the boat ramp.  It is labeled SSOA - 480.

How much are the SSOA Annual Dues?

Currently the annual dues for the SSOA community are $240 per lot per year.  The amount of the annual dues for the next year are discussed and set at the annual home owners meeting in October.

What do the SSOA Annual Dues used for?

The home owners within the Southwood Shores community enjoy a private boat ramp and two private fishing piers that are for the exclusive use of the community homeowners and their family/guests.  Additionally, Southwood Shores Dr, within the community, is a private road that is owned by the community.  The SSOA Annual Dues are used to maintain Southwood Shores Dr as well as the boat ramp and fishing piers.

A complete financial statement is provided at each annual meeting so that all home owners can see what money was spent and how much is in reserve.

What do I need to do if I want to make any improvements to my property in Southwood Shores?

Before you begin construction, print out the ACC (Architecture Control Committee) Form (found in the Documents section below) and complete the form and provide as much detail as you can about the improvements that you intend to make.  Be sure to include any plans or drawings that you may have for the improvements.  Send the completed form and all supporting documentation to ssoa77331@gmail.com or drop it in the SSOA locked mailbox.  The Architectural Control Committee will review your plans and get back to you quickly with any additional questions they may have before approval.  Please review the deed restrictions for more details.
